‘I’m more understanding about myself and hopefully do more to help other understand me.’
Our Community Support service responds to the specific needs and challenges of the autistic individual who is receiving the support. This Service connects an autistic person and their family with a trained support worker. Together they identify goals and area to focus on and work towards those as part of the support.
The areas of support are wide-ranging and catered to the specific needs of the individual. Those may include support with social skills, communication, managing finance, travel training, accessing the community, independence skills and many others.
The support is time limited and will take place on a weekly basis.
All our staff are autism trained and all our services are autism focused.
Community Support takes place at the person’s home and in their local community. When appropriate for the individual we can offer online video call and phone support.
